The race itself is both difficult and challenging for jockeys and horses, but it is very enjoyable to watch. It is a handicap chase run over a designed track of just under 5 miles (4 miles and 6 furlongs) through a series of some of the biggest fences in racing. Speed alone is definitely not enough, because horses must have perfect form and superb strength to be able to conquer the obstacles and be the winner of this amazing event. Check out the thirty fences to be jumped and various other obstacles along the way; there is always a lot of excitement throughout the race day guaranteed.

The event is held every year in early April, usually Saturday afternoon, and the 2010 Grand National is just a couple of months away. Be sure to book your ticket early or you will not be able to enjoy it live at the Aintree. You will have a lot of fun at the track indeed, especially with lots of interesting moments and betting opportunities added. Last year’s winners took home a cool £900,000 in total; the competition will be stiff, which means a lot of actions can be expected during 2010 Grand National for sure.
